William T. Ligon, Jr. is the founder of The Ligon Firm, P.C., with offices in Brunswick, Ga and on Saint Simons Island and began the firm in 1993. He believes that small business owners and ordinary people are the backbone of America, and has devoted his life to helping them succeed. His desire to invest in the future of his community led him to serve as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Brunswick for 16 years. He has previously served in Georgia's State Legislature as senator for Georgia’s Third District.
Throughout his career, William has represented clients in thousands of legal matters and has an expert’s perspective in dealing with residential and commercial closings and real estate disputes. William also has extensive expertise representing clients in personal injury and workers’ compensation cases. In addition to deeply understanding the laws that affect you and your family, he has helped shape the laws that contributed to a better future for your family and his, as a former Georgia State Senator.
William earned his Bachelor of Arts in History at Valdosta State College and his Juris Doctor from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the State and Federal Courts of Georgia and is a member of the Georgia State Bar Association. William speaks fluent Spanish. William has litigated in state courts at all levels and received the highest possible peer rating, AV Preeminent, from the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell.
